PIECE 1: CHIC WAYS TO SPICE UP YOUR FIT

Out of all the tips n tricks I have learned along the way- this one was the biggest game changer. How to elevate your look. Everyone knows that some cute jeans paired with a baby tee might be the best default outfit ever. Like it seriously never will do you dirty. However this pairing alone doesn’t scream anything other than- “hi im here : )”.But for us girlies who want to give something a bit more monumental, there are a few small details that will immediately make your outfit ten times cooler.

I bet it comes to no surprise that jewelry is the first contender on this list. But hey it’s a classic for a reason. Whether you are going for a clean girl vibe with simple chic pieces such as small gold hoops and a thin gold necklace- or you are taking the “look at me” route with chunkier pieces or ( my personal fav) mixed metals, jewelry is always the first stop I take to see if a boring outfit can be rescued.

The next, slightly more advanced method is unique layering. Now this goes beyond throwing on a cardigan and calling it a day. Im talking using scarfs as draping belts or layering inside out mini shorts under jeans to create a striking contrast. That mini short trick is my most recent obsession, and there are two ways you can style it. The more traditional one includes just putting the shorts on like normal under the jeans, and allowing the waist band to peak out. For extra spice- try using mini shorts with patterns or fun textures. The more strange method however goes like this. Put the mini shorts on inside out, and then put your pants on over. Then fold the waistband of the mini shorts over the top of the pants to create your own belt kind of look. Again this one is fun with patterns and textures, but is perfect as a simple color block contrast as well.

Lastly we are going to wrap this up with the most difficult, but insanely rewarding- trick. That would be use of headwear. Everyone knows the classic baseball hats or headbands- but I urge you to get a but more abstract with it. try making accent hoods with scarfs or bandanas or invest in a leather skull cap. And dare I say, style a snood?! Okok I know the snood is wild but im having a lot of fun styling it!

I feel as I should stop before this escalates past snood territory- but I highly suggest to dabble next time you're bored. Because you are truly never too old to play dress up.
